Lee Goodwin LAKE Lee Goodwin, 56, of Lake, died on Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at Lairds Hospital in Union. Visitation was held from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m. on Friday, October 11, at the funeral home. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 11, in the funeral home chapel with burial in the Goodhope Baptist Cemetery.

Rev. Harold Laird officiated. Wolf Funeral Services in Lake was in charge of arrangements. Lee was a lifelong resident of Lake and was of the Baptist faith. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and camp.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Shirley Goodwin. He is survived by one daughter, Heather Everett of Union; one son, Brent Pinter of Forest; one sister, Janice Goodwin of Lake; and two grandchildren, Katielyn Pinter and Bredon Ogletree. Visitation was held from 5 until 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 24, at the funeral home.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 25, at the funeral home. Rev. Randy Rigney officiated the services. Ott and Lee Funeral Home in Morton was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Sessums was a native Scott County. She is the daughter of Thad William and Katie Bell Easterling Owens. She was married to George Prentiss Sessums, Sr. She worked many years at Roosevelt State Park in Morton.

Mrs. Sessums was a member of the Morton Church of God where she helped start the clothes and food pantry. She enjoyed teaching Sunday school and Bible school, playing cards, watching Hee Haw, reading, traveling and listening to gospel music. She loved her family and spending time with them brought great joy to her life. She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.

Mrs. Sessums was preceded in death by her husband, George Prentiss Sessums son, George Prentiss Sessums, and two brothers, Bobby Ray and Ernest Thomas Owens. Mrs. Sessums is survived by her children, Steve K. (Sandra) Sessums of Hattiesburg, Vivian (Robbie) Jenkins of Pearl and Rochelle Mandi LeGrand (Ed) of Pelahatchie; brother, Rev.

W.L. (Sarah) Owens of Winter Haven, special nephew, Eugene Owens of Morton; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Pallbearers were Blake Sessums, Ed LeGrand, Drew White, Kevin Gainey, Josh Chavis, Albert Galeas, Junior Waggoner and B.J. Frith. James Lewis Stinson PULASKI James Lewis Stinson, 76, of Pulaski, died on Thursday, October 24, 2013, at his residence.

Visitation was held from 5 until 8 p.m., on Saturday, October 26, at the funeral home. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, October 27, at the funeral home with burial in New Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Paul Smith officiated.

Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Forest was in charge of arrangements. He was a dad to everybody and loved life and lived it to the fullest. He was always willing to help others anyway he could. He was a nature enthusiast including camping, hunting, and walking in the woods. He volunteered in many areas including for the State of Mississippi a Program, Mississippi Game Warden friends, and archeology research and findings.

He loved to read his Bible, and lived his life by the standards of it. He was loved by many and will be missed by all. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Lewis Stinson and Nettie Mae Hall Stinson; one brother, Charles Stinson Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Nita Stinson of Pulaski; his children, James Lewis Stinson, of Moss Point, Mae Bryan of Carthage, Deloris Lyles of Morton, Virginia Walker of Morton, Tony Stinson of Morton, Jimmy Lee Stinson of Morton, Richard Stinson of Pulaski, Pam McCleave of Florence, Bruce Hamilton of Polkville and Kay Chunn of Pulaski; 21 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Tiny Louise Hicks of Moss Point; Ethel Mae Hudson of Pulaski; and Jean Jones of Moss Point; a host of nieces and nephews. His children served as pallbearers. This Quick Bites will be presented by Dr. Wes Schilling, Mississippi State Uni- versity Extension Service Food Science, Nutrition, Health Promotion Associate Professor. Dr. Schilling will discuss how to make beef and deer jerky using a commercial smokehouse, a dehydrator, and a home oven. He will cover cuts of meat that can be used, spices, marination procedures, and drying procedures.

Creative Christmas set for Nov. 14 Mississippi State University Extension Service in Scott County, Scott County Mississippi Homemaker Volunteers and Forest Community Arts will sponsor on Thursday, November 14, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

at the Forest National Guard Armory. There will be an admission fee of $1. Make plans to attend this holiday event, which will feature arts, crafts, and baked goods by local artisans as well as a variety of other items available for purchase. Forest Community Arts will sponsor a metal yard art demonstration by Julie Latham. The VFWand American Legion will also be selling barbeque chicken plates for $6 and drinks for $1.
